Thymosin Beta-4 is a 43-amino-acid peptide and the most abundant member of the beta-thymosin family, distinguished by an N-terminally acetylated serine residue. It has the molecular formula C212H350N56O78S, a molecular weight of approximately 4963 g/mol, and CAS number 77591-33-4. Encoded by the TMSB4X gene, it was first isolated from calf thymus tissue in 1981. The peptide binds and sequesters G-actin monomers, regulating actin polymerization in eukaryotic cells. Supplied as a white to off-white lyophilized powder, soluble in water, stored refrigerated at 2–8 °C. This product is strictly for research purposes only.
